Winkelbediende gooit bij vriestemperaturen emmer water over dakloze vrouw

Een medewerkster van een winkel in Louisiana is ontslagen, nadat de onderstaande video zich over het internet begon te verspreiden. Bij vriestemperaturen gooit ze een emmer water over een dakloze vrouw die bij de winkel zit.

De medewerkster in kwestie, Kasey Young, postte de video zelf online en verdedigde haar acties. Young zegt dat ze zo de daklozen probeert te verjagen van de parking van de winkel.

Ze onthulde: “Ze hangen vaak rond op de parking, gebruiken drugs en vallen de klanten lastig.” De eigenaar van de winkel was al even gechoqueerd als mensen online en besloot om de vrouw op staande voet te ontslagen.

The night before she did this, it was 31 degrees there. So she thought it would be a good idea to pour cold water on the #homeless to get them to leave. This isn’t the action one should take. For one it is just cruel. I have issues with calling the police. But that could have been done. The best thing would have been to call a homeless shelter to get advice or the local health and human services. I’ve read reports she was fired from the Triple S Food Mart after she posted this video. But this shows you how some people think of our unhoused neighbors. This breaks my heart. I wasn’t always treated with compassion when I was living on the streets.
